The Dream...

The mission of Busy Bee Book Bus is supporting a passion for reading, promoting literacy, and getting books into the hands of underprivileged children and families across the Hudson Valley. The Busy Bee Book Bus will promote reading as a source of lifelong pleasure, raise achievement of children at risk, encourage families to read together and empower the involvement of parents in their children's learning.

My dream is to have the Busy Bee Book Bus up and running by late Fall 2013 and be a mobile literacy outreach center that will be dedicated to spreading the love of reading and distributing books to children.  I envision traveling to schools, community centers, churches, shelters, and after-school programs conducting read-alouds and giving away new or gently used books. My goal is to expand the collection of books that children have in their homes while generating enthusiasm for reading.

If you enjoy working with children and are a book enthusiast then join the Busy Bee Book Bus tour and volunteer to read and handout books with me!  For more information, contact Jennifer Rossi at readbusybeebooks@gmail.com.
